RecognitionsAt the recent Board of Education meeting on January 16, 2018, the Board recognized several students and teachers at Nags Head Elementary School. See a complete list below: 

Teachers: 
Jenna gray - Received National Board Certified Teacher Recognition
Doug Potter - Received National Board Certified Teacher Recognition
Kata Daniel - Nags Head Classified Employee of the Year
Katie Blanchard — Regional Teacher of the Year Finalist 

Chelsea Brantley and Katie Blanchard: 
- Recently received the NCTIES Learning Innovation Award for their collaborative economics project, "Making Money in Media."
- They also received a Read 2 Succeed grant for this project and presented the project at the NCSLMA conference on October 6th, to media coordinators from across North Carolina.

Chelsea Brantley: 
- A scholarship recipient from the American Library Association, and will be recognized at their Mid-Winter Conference 2018 in Denver CO.
- Recognized from Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) International Honor Society in Education, Teacher of Honor.
- Was accepted into the NCSLMA's Emerging Leaders cohort

Student: 
Kate Wasniewski, 5th grader, Ms. Alderman’s Class — 1st place in Operation Beach Respect.
